The application of the innovative technology behind ROUTD is being rolled out into other sectors, such as vending and warehouse management via ROUTD Vending, to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve stakeholder experience.
Most recently, ROUTD took over a London-wide contract for 23 micro marts, in partnership with the world’s largest contract caterer. This contract sees ROUTD’s ground-breaking technology ensures that all orders, replenishments, and deliveries across the group contract are automated. ROUTD Logistics provides warehouse management, the fleet of vehicles and employs all the drivers. Once enough data has been generated, stock replenishment, ordering, and warehouse management will become forecasted, ultimately saving hundreds of hours of operational time and reducing costs. Product wastage will be greatly reduced through accurate forecasting, helping support our client’s ESG goals.
Micro marts are small, automated retail setups designed to offer customers greater convenience and efficiency in purchasing everyday items, whilst reducing labour costs for the operator. Unlike traditional stores, they operate without on-site staff, relying on innovative technology for tracking customer baskets, payments, and stock levels.
Micro marts are traditionally serviced by multiple suppliers, resulting in disruptive and inaccurate stock replenishment and increased vehicles on the roads. ROUTD has removed this need by creating a warehouse management system that is connected to the EPOS system, (electronic point of sale), creating visibility of real time par levels vs sales.
ROUTD has created greater automation at the micro marts. Notifications are instantly sent to the warehouse for the pickers to create bespoke replenishment orders when stock levels drop to a pre-specified amount. This has removed the need for the delivery teams to manually record what items need to be ordered at each location. This has improved not only operational efficiency, but also greatly reduced the number of incorrect orders and the time needed to replenish each location.
Another benefit to the introduction of ROUTD’s technology and operational approach has been through the reduction of the number of vehicles on the road. ROUTD has also removed unnecessary delivery drops by ensuring accurate replenishments, rather than simple guess work.
By introducing ROUTD, our partner will greatly reduce the carbon footprint associated with the management of this multi-site contract, in addition to reducing costs and improving visibility of customer behaviours.
